(UPDATED 6/22, 3:30 p.m.) Three-Vehicle Crash in Columbia Sends Four to Hospital

A crash occurred near the intersection of Dobbin Road and Snowden River Parkway.

UPDATE: Howard County Police responded to a four-vehicle collision near the intersection of Dobbin Road and Snowden River Parkway, just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Elizabeth Schroen said emergency personnel transported four patients to Shock Trauma–not one, as previously reported. One patient was released later on Tuesday.

Police said a 74-year-old man driving a Mercedes SUV, was traveling westbound on Dried Earth Boulevard, when his vehicle collided with three other vehicles turning left onto Snowden River Parkway.

Schroen said preliminary investigation suggests the turning vehicles had the right of way, but police are investigating further.

Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision just before 1 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Dobbin Road and Snowden River Parkway.

Three people were taken by ambulance to area hospitals, and a fourth was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department.

Schroen did not release the nature of the incident or the severity of the injuries.
