Three Robberies in 10 Days: Columbia Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County police department. It does not indicate a conviction. Crimes were reported between July 3 and July 12, 2012.

 

Robbery

Police report a woman was robbed of her cell phone and wallet while sitting in her vehicle near the 10400 block of Swift Stream Place by a suspect who approached her displaying a knife on July 3 at 9:05 p.m.

Two victims were allegedly assaulted near the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road in Oakland Mills by three unknown suspects on July 6 at 10:48 p.m. A cell phone was reported stolen in the incident.

Police say a group of five males assaulted a single victim and stole his jeans, sneakers, cell phone, wallet and cash near the 7500 block of Weather Worn Way around 11:30 p.m. on July 7.

Residential Breaking and Entering

A female resident reportedly observed someone inside her home with a flashlight near the 1100 block of Iron Crown Court around 11:15 p.m. on July 4. When the woman screamed, the suspect fled and nothing appeared to be stolen.

A known suspect reportedly broke open a door and entered a home near the 8700 block of Hayshed Lane without permission and was later arrested by police. Police reported the incident was domestic related.

A homeowner came home on July 5 to a house near the 10800 block of Braeburn Road and found the front door unlocked. An unknown suspect reportedly took watches, cash and other foreign currency sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

A bike was reported stolen from the backyard of a house near the 9500 block of Sea Shadow on July 7 around 1 p.m.

An unknown suspect or suspects allegedly entered an apartment near the 10500 block of Cross Fox Lane by unknown means and stole credit cards and a cell phone around 10 p.m. on July 11. Police reported the victim may have left the door unlocked.
