 Robbery - Home invasion

A resident on the 7500 block of Monarch Mills Way told police that someone he knew had wanted to trade shoes with him, but he declined. Then, at about 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, he said two teenagers came to his apartment and forced their way in. According to police, one of the two had a gun. The teenagers stole two pairs of shoes, according to police.

The 16- and 17-year-old brothers, both of whom live on the same street as the victim, were arrested and face several burglary and robbery charges, one gun charge and one assault charge. They were charged as adults.

Residential burglary

On Nov. 8 between 1 a.m. and 7 p.m. someone broke into storage lockers at a home on the 10300 block of Swift stream Place, according to police. Police say the burglars took jackets and shoes from a locker.

Police say a teenager returned home to the 8600 block of Stonehouse Drive on the afternoon of Nov. 8, put his backpack down and locked the front door, only to hear the front door alarm beep a few minutes later. When he went back to check, according to police, the door was ajar.

He locked the door again and also locked the deadbolt, according to police, but a few minutes later, he heard the alarm beep again and when he checked, found the deadbolt unlocked.

According to police, he left for a football game at about 2:40 p.m. and, when he returned at about 6:20 p.m., he found suspicious items in his backpack.  He called his father who told him to check his bedroom closet. According to police, when he checked, he found a large amount of money missing from a box that was in the closet.  There was no sign of forced entry and nothing else was missing or disturbed.

Commercial burglary

According to police, someone broke into one trailer and damaged another at Washington Wilbert Vault, on the 9900 block of Washington Boulevard, sometime during the weekend of Nov. 3. Police say nothing was taken.

Residential burglary

A resident on the 6600 block of Highland Avenue returned home on Nov. 8 to find the front door unlocked, according to police. Nothing was reported missing.

Police say that someone broke the glass on a home on the 8300 block of Reservoir Road between Nov. 6 and Nov. 8. No entry was made into the house.
