Small Fire Contained At Columbia Townhouse

Approximately 20 firefighters were able to control a small fire in less than 15 minutes at the 5600 block of Settler Place this afternoon.

Twenty firefighters responded to smoke showing from the second floor of a townhouse on Settler Place around 2:15 p.m. today, according to a Howard County Fire press release.

The firefighters were able to put out the fire in less than 20 minutes. The residents were able to escape the home and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the release.

Residents of the home have made arrangements to stay with friends.
