UPDATE: Driver Dead in Route 32 Crash

Route 32 reopened around 2 p.m. after being closed since 8 a.m. to investigate a fatal crash.

Route 32 has reopend after an approximately 6 hour investigation into a fatal crash near 108 in Clarksville, according to police.

UPDATE - 11:25 a.m.

The driver of the Jeep involved in Tuesday morning's crash on Route 32 has died, reported police.

Michael Paul Dumonceau, 68, of Ellicott City was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital after being transported in critical condition, according to police.

Police said Route 32 will remain closed in both directions as police investigate the crash and it is not expected to reopen for a number of hours.

Original Story - 9:47 a.m.

Route 32 is currently closed in both directions Tuesday morning after a flatbed truck slid from the southbound lane into the northbound and struck a Jeep traveling north, critically injuring the driver of the Jeep.

The driver of the truck was not injured, according to police.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. near Route 108 in Clarksville, police said. It is unknown when the road will reopen, according to police.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to Howard County General Hospital in critical condition. Information about the roadway will be released as it becomes available, wrote police in a statement.
