Police Say Ellicott City Man Groped Three Women in Columbia

Police linked the Ellicott City man to three different groping incidents in Columbia.

An Ellicott City man accused of grabbing three women between their legs was charged by police this week.

Police arrested Jeremy K. Ng, 26, of Whitworth Way, after a woman reported he grabbed her between her legs while she walked into her Columbia apartment on Jan. 6. When the incident occurred, the woman screamed and her friend, an off-duty police officer who was inside the apartment, ran after the suspect and held him until other officers arrived, said police.

After arresting Ng, police linked him to two other incidents.

The first occurred at Best Buy in Columbia on May 23. A woman reported a man grabbing under her skirt as she was entering her vehicle. Police linked Ng to the incident using a surveillance video that showed a man matching his description following the woman through the store and into the parking lot. The woman also provided a description of a vehicle that matched Ng's white Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The second dates back to Jan. 10, 2013, when a woman reported a man grabbed her inappropriately from behind in the parking lot at The Mall in Columbia. Police contacted the woman and filed additional charges against Ng.

Ng, who was arrested three different times as police pieced together more information, is charged with three counts each of second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense. He was released on $5,000 bond after each of his three arrests.

Police ask that anyone who thinks they may have been a victim in a similar incident to contact them. Police declined to release Ng's photo as other potential victims may need to identify him independently.
