Robbery at Gunpoint in Bathroom of Columbia McDonald's: Howard County Crime Roundup

Owen Brown: Robbery

Little information was available about a robbery that happened in the bathroom of a McDonald’s on the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way.

The robbery was reported at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22. Police say four suspects followed a male victim into the restroom, displayed a gun and got away with his cell phone, money and a video game. 

The same victim was later confronted in the nearby Giant Food grocery store by two suspects who showed a knife, police said.

Laurel: Robbery

A person was exiting his vehicle on the 9500 block of Canterbury Riding when a man came up to him, showed a gun and stole his cell phone and wallet.

The robbery was reported at 1:15 a.m. on Friday, April 22.

The suspect was described as a black male with a light-to-medium complexion, 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, and wearing a large, brown hooded sweatshirt, baggy blue jeans and brown boots.

Laurel: Burglary/Vehicle theft

A yellow and black 2003 Suzuki dirt bike was stolen from the 10700 block of Glen Hannah Drive. The suspect or suspects stole the vehicle from an unlocked shed. The burglary was reported at 9:26 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20.

Laurel: Burglary

A laptop and china were stolen from a residence on the 8800 block of Evermore Court. There were no signs of forced entry. The burglary happened sometime between 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, and 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23.

Laurel: Burglary

Jewelry was stolen from a residence on the 8600 block of Jennifer Court. The home was also ransacked. Police were not certain how the suspect or suspects got inside. The burglary happened sometime between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21.

Elkridge: Burglary

A purse was stolen from a residence on the 5900 block of Big Tree Court. The suspect or suspects got inside through an unlocked front door. The burglary happened sometime between 11:35 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23.

West Friendship: Break-in (with arrest)

A Glenwood teen was arrested and accused of cutting wires at a vacant home on the 2200 block of McKendree Road. The break-in was reported at about 6:50 p.m. on Friday, April 22. A witness spotted someone cutting wires and gave police a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Tyler James Boyer, 18, of 2474 Glenwood Springs, has been charged with one count of fourth-degree burglary and one count of malicious destruction of property, according to police.

Woodbine: Break-in

Nothing was reported stolen from a vacant home on the 15900 block of A E Mullinix Road. The suspect or suspects got inside after forcing open a garage door. The break-in was reported at 9:17 a.m. on Saturday, April 23.

Wilde Lake: Break-in

Police say someone was using a property in the 5500 block of Green Mountain Circle for shelter without having permission to do so. The break-in was reported at 1:39 p.m. on Friday, April 22.

Owen Brown: Break-in

Little information was available about a break-in on the 7300 block of Kerry Hill Court. The break-in was reported at 6:31 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.

Columbia Town Center: Indecent Exposure

A person was seen urinating in a parking lot in the 10300 block of Swift Stream Place. The incident was reported at 12:13 p.m. on Thursday, April 21.

Elkridge, Ellicott City, Laurel: Vehicle Thefts

- Elkridge: A U-Haul trailer was stolen from the U-Haul shop on the 5800 block of Washington Boulevard. It was reported stolen at 12:26 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.

- Ellicott City: A four-door 2009 Toyota Corolla with Maryland license plate 5EGK07 was stolen from the 4400 block of Stonecrest Drive. It was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23.

- Laurel: A Chevrolet truck was stolen from the 9200 block of Canterbury Riding. It was reported stolen at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 23.
