A Randallstown man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the armed robbery of a man in the parking lot at the Mall in Columbia in which police observed him holding a gun on the victim.

On Sept. 6, 2012, police watched Pierre Antwan Booth, 29, and a Columbia man, Odell Kareem Copeland, 32, rob a Laurel man as the man attempted to enter his car at the mall parking lot. Police were positioned in a nearby parking garage in a surveillance position, according to the police report. Copeland and Booth were arrested shortly after the robbery.

Copeland pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery last week. He was described as the lookout while Booth brandished the gun to steal the victim's cigarettes, car keys, $75 and his cell phone, according to police.

Booth was sentenced to six years for the armed robbery and another six for using a handgun in the commission of a felony, according to a Howard County state's attorney's spokesperson. Judge William V. Tucker ordered the terms be served consecutively.
