Police Seek Beltsville Man in Double Shooting

Howard County police say the man shot his estranged girlfriend at a nail salon in Shipley's Grant.

Howard County police are offering a reward for information leading to a man on the run after a weekend double shooting in Ellicott City.

Police were called to the Nail & Hair Care Spa in the Shipley’s Grant shopping center at about 7 p.m. Saturday. Two people had been shot, they said.

In a statement released Sunday, police say the suspect, Tuan Minh Pham of Beltsville, went to the spa where his estranged girlfriend, Lan Phan, 34, of Silver Spring, works. According to the statement, Pham saw Phan’s friend, Thanh Do, 40, of Florida, outside.

Police say Pham and Do fought, then Pham shot Do, who ran into the salon. Pham followed Do, according to police, and shot Phan, then fled in a 1998 gold or tan four-door Honda Accord, license plate 2AK0291.

Do and Phan were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where they were both listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon, according to police. Pham and Phan have two children together, according to police, and Phan had a protective order against Pham at the time of the shooting.
