Police: Man Found Dead in Icy Water at Centennial Park

Police said the man may have slipped and fallen into icy waters.

Centennial Park in Ellicott City was temporarily closed Sunday while police investigated an apparent drowning.

Howard County Police said a resident found an unidentified man Sunday at about 9 a.m. at the park. The investigation is ongoing, but police said the man may have slipped and fallen into icy waters.

Authorities have not yet identified the man, described to be in his 50s. There are no indications of foul play, and the death is believed to have been accidental, police said.

Centennial Park in Howard County covers 325 acres in Ellicott City.
