Police: Mall Employee Kicks Stun Gun from Suspect

The Prince George's man was arrested on Monday night.

 

Howard County Police arrested a Prince George's County man on Monday night after he reportedly pulled a stun gun on a Mall in Columbia employee who confronted him after observing him attempt to steal watches from a display case in Lord and Taylor.

The employee, a loss prevention officer, was able to kick the stun gun from the man's hand and attempted to detain him, but he escaped, according to police.

Police reported they later located the suspect nearby.

Michael Penny, 55, of Suitland, was arrested and charged with robbery, theft, assault, and the use of an electronic control device.
