Pedestrian Run Over, Killed at Merriweather Post Pavilion: Police
The man was in the parking lot at the M3 festival, Howard County police said.
A Baltimore man died Friday night when he was run over by a vehicle in a parking lot at Merriweather Post Pavilion, according to the Howard County Police Department.
Erick Jon Girardin, 42, of Baltimore might have been lying on the ground in the grass parking lot near the concert venue when he was hit, said police, who are continuing to investigate the incident.
At 10:12 p.m., a Philadelphia man was backing his vehicle out of the grass lot where it had been parked when the 2008 Chrysler Sebring he was driving ran over Girardin, who was behind the car, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was not intoxicated at the time of the collision, according to police, who said that investigators believed the individuals were attending the M3 rock festival. The festival continues Saturday.
Police said the crash remains under investigation, and it was not clear whether any charges would be filed.
