Police Name Victim in Fatal Columbia Crash (UPDATED)

An Elkridge woman died in a single-vehicle collision on MD 32 East.

Sarah Marie Stebbins, 21, of the 6800 block of Norris Lane in Elkridge, died Sunday afternoon in a single-car collision on MD 32, said Howard County police.

At approximately 4 p.m., Stebbins was behind the wheel of a Nissan Xterra on MD 32 East when her vehicle drifted off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail, said police. The vehicle continued onto the bridge that passes over US 29, where the Xterra "lost control," struck a concrete jersey wall and rolled over, coming to rest on the driver's side, according to a press release.

Preliminary findings indicated Stebbins was speeding and not wearing her seatbelt, police said. Stebbins was partially ejected from her vehicle and was pronounced dead, said police.
