No Injuries in Saturday Columbia Apartment Fire

Officials responded at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

A Saturday apartment fire at the 12000 block of Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia took 30 minutes to get under control and resulted in no injuries.

More than 20 fire and rescue units responded to the fire, which had engulfed the first-floor apartment with heavy smoke that spread to surrounding units, said spokeswoman Jackie Cutler.

Crews rescued two women from the 16-unit apartment fire, one of whom was evaluated for smoke inhalation, but refused treatment, Cutler said.
