Nine Break-Ins, Safe with Foreign Currency Stolen: Columbia Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County police department. It does not indicate a conviction. Crimes were reported between July 13 and July 17, 2012.

 

Residential Breaking and Entering

A safe containing foreign currency, documents and money was reportedly stolen from a residence near the 6800 block of Creekside Road in Clarksville between 7:40 and 10:21 p.m. on July 14. Police say an unknown suspect or suspects gained entry through an unsecured window.

(Attempt) Someone reportedly threw a rock at a sliding glass door of a residence near the 7000 block of Oakland Mills Road between 12:30 and 10 a.m. on July 16. The glass was damaged, but no entry was gained.

(Attempt) An unknown suspect or suspects allegedly attempted to gain entry to a residence near the 10700 block of Green Mountain Circle between 8:30 and 10 a.m. on July 16 by opening a screen slider and moving a barbecue grill to access the slider, but no entry was gained.

Jewelry was reported stolen from a residence near the 6100 block of Good Hunters Ride between 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on July 13. There were no signs of forced entry, according to police.

A sliding glass door was allegedly pried open and jewelry, a camera and camera accessories were taken by an unknown suspect or suspects at a residence near the 6100 block of Silver Arrows Way on July 13 between 7:10 and 11 p.m. on July 13.

A saw, extension cord and toy handgun were reported stolen from a shed near the 5400 block of Trotter Road on July 14 between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m.

An unknown suspect or suspects allegedly threw a brick through a window near the 6200 block of Black Cherry Circle and stole a TV and electronics between noon and 1 p.m. on July 15.

Unknown suspects reportedly broke a rear glass door with a cinder block and stole a TV from a residence near the 10000 block of Maple Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on July 13.

Bicycles were reported stolen from an unlocked garage near the 6600 block of Towering Oak Path sometime between July 12 and July 13.

A dirt bike was reported stolen from an open attached garage between 6:10 and 6:40 p.m. on July 14 from a residence near the 6200 block of Patuxent Quarter Road.

Cash and jewelry were allegedly stolen from a residence near the 8300 block of Tamar Drive after an unknown suspect or suspects gained entry through a ground floor window between 1 p.m. on July 12 and 12:15 a.m. on July 13.
