Man Robbed at Gunpoint at Own Home in Owen Brown: Howard County Crime Roundup

Owen Brown: Robbery

Howard County police are looking for a man suspected of following a male victim to his front door and then robbing him at gunpoint.

The robbery was reported at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday, April 2. The victim said he was followed to his home on the 6500 block of Overheart Lane. The suspect showed a gun and soon got away on foot with the victim's wallet.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, in his late teens to mid-20s, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, possibly with a mustache, and wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Dorsey's Search: Burglary

Cash was stolen from Honey Baked Ham on the 4700 block of Dorsey Hall Drive. The suspect or suspects broke a front glass window to get inside.  The burglary was reported at 12:44 a.m. on Monday, April 4.

Owen Brown: Break-in

A man was found sleeping inside the Owen Brown Tennis Club on the 7100 block of Cradlerock Way. The man had gotten inside by tampering with a lock. The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, with dreadlocked hair and wearing a blue and white jacket and dark pants. The break-in was reported at 7 a.m. on Friday, April 1.

Clarksville: Burglary

A safe was stolen from a residence on the 6400 block of Galway Drive. The suspect or suspects entered after breaking a sliding rear glass door. The residence was also ransacked. The burglary happened sometime between Monday, March 28, and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.

Elkridge: Burglary

Catalytic converters, a GPS and two jump packs were stolen from Miles Towing on the 6200 block of South Hanover Road. The suspect or suspects entered the business by climbing a fence and then stealing the items from vehicles on the lot. The suspect or suspects also entered an unlocked shed, but nothing was reported stolen from it.

The burglary happened sometime between 6:45 p.m. on Friday, April 1, and 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 2.

Elkridge: Burglary (with arrests)

Three people were arrested following a break-in on the 5900 block of Bonnie View Lane. Police were called to a construction site for reports of people removing wood.

Two of the suspects have been identified as Michael W. Phillips, 48, of 313 S. Bentlow St. in Baltimore, and Jacob E. Bowling, 46, of 1919 Lincoln Ave. in Halethorpe. Both have been charged with one count each of first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, and one count of theft.

A juvenile male was also arrested.

The burglary was reported at 8:37 p.m. on Sunday, April 3.

Ellicott City: Break-in

The suspect or suspects entered a residence on the 2900 block of Chainita Court after breaking a glass door. The break-in was reported at 6:26 p.m. on Saturday, April 2. No other information was available.

Ellicott City: Break-in attempt

No entry was gained in an attempted break-in at a residence on the 2700 block of Westminster Road. The suspect or suspects tried to get inside by tampering with a sliding glass door. The break-in attempt happened sometime between 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, and 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 31.

Laurel: Burglary (with arrest)

A Savage man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly stealing a wallet from a Laurel home and trying to steal magazines from a Jessup convenience store.

Cartrel Darryl Baboolal, 21, of 8768 Lincoln St., has been charged with first- and fourth-degree burglary, theft and credit card theft, police said.

A resident on the 9100 block of Thamesmeade Road had returned home at about 3:21 a.m. to see someone leaving his home on foot. He discovered that a wallet had been stolen from the home. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Officers were called at about 4:10 a.m. to the Royal Farms on the 8700 block of Washington Boulevard for a report of someone stealing magazines. They arrested that person and discovered that he had the stolen wallet from the home on Thamesmeade Road, police said.

Laurel: Burglary

Coins and jewelry were stolen from a residence on the 9100 block of River Hill Road. There were no signs of forced entry. The burglary happened sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. on Friday, April 1.

Vehicle Thefts: Ellicott City and Laurel

- Ellicott City: A 2010 Dodge with Maryland license plate 57661M4 was taken from the 8800 block of Town and Country Boulevard. Police say it was a "known suspect" who took the vehicle without having permission to do so. The theft was reported at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, April 3.

- Laurel: A Nissan Rogue was stolen from Carmax on the 8800 block of Freestate Drive. It was reported stolen at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, April 1.
