Man Arrested After Break-in In Oakland Mills: Howard County Crime Roundup

Oakland Mills: Break-in (with arrest)

A Baltimore man was arrested Thursday following a break-in on the 5900 block of Gales Lane in Columbia.

Anthony Nilante Harris, 20, of 1134 E. Belvedere Ave., has been charged with one count each of first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, and one count of theft, according to court documents.

Police say a resident returned home at about 4:43 p.m. to find Harris inside the home. Harris allegedly then ran away, only to be located later by arriving officers.

He has a court hearing scheduled for April 22.

Owen Brown: Break-in attempt

No entry was gained following an attempted break-in on the 6500 block of Quiet Hours. The suspect or suspects tried to get inside by prying the front door. The break-in attempt happened sometime between 2 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23.

Clarksville: Burglary

Copper wiring was stolen from the Ten Oaks Nursery on the 5700 block of Ten Oaks Road. The suspect or suspects entered a supply area through an unlocked door. "Wires were left at the scene," police said. The burglary happened sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18, and 7 a.m. on Monday, March 21.

Dorsey's Search and Laurel: Vehicle Thefts

- Dorsey's Search: A gray 2008 Honda Civic with Maryland license plate JRH475 was stolen from the 4600 block of Oakview Court. It was reported stolen at 6:31 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23.

- Laurel: A blue 1996 Ford Explorer with Maryland license plate 424M330 was stolen from the 10100 block of Washington Boulevard. It was reported stolen at 5:39 a.m. on Friday, March 25.
