(UPDATED 4/19, 7:25 p.m.) Columbia Teen in Critical Condition After Shooting Monday in Ellicott City

Police are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.

Police are offering a reward for information about a shooting in the Hilltop housing complex Monday night that left a Columbia man critically injured.

Police were called to the 3600 block of Mount Ida Drive in Ellicott City at about 11:09 Monday night. When police arrived they found 19-year-old Terrell William Young suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement released by police.

Yellow crime tape surrounded the street and neighbors congregated outside late Monday night as Young was taken by ambulance to the Howard County District Court. He was then transported by a MedEvac helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

According to Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Scott Wood, Young was “alive and breathing” in the ambulance.

As of late Tuesday morning, Young is listed in critical condition, according to the police department.

Police say that based on the preliminary investigation, they think Young was visiting the area with an acquaintance when the suspect fired at him in the parking lot.

Police are looking for the suspect, a 6-foot-tall man with a heavy build, and offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.

Male Shot, Transported From Ellicott City to Shock Trauma

A person found shot late Monday night in Ellicott City was taken by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to police.

The victim, a male, was found wounded in the Hilltop apartment complex just off Ellicott Mills Drive, according to police on the scene. Yellow crime tape surrounded the street on the 3600 block of Mount Ida Drive, and neighbors congregated outside.

Police said the victim was found there at about 11:09 p.m.  Police did not have a suspect in custody as of 12:15 a.m.

The victim was transported from an ambulance to a medical helicopter, which landed in the parking lot of the Howard County District Court at about 11:45 p.m.

The victim was “alive and breathing,” in the ambulance, according to Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Scott Wood.

No further information was available as of 12:45 a.m.
