Lucky's China Inn Temporarily Closed: HoCo Health Department

Fire broke out at the Chinese restaurant in the Oakland Mills Village Center.

A restaurant in Oakland Mills has been closed since last week due to a fire, the Howard County Health Department reported Monday.

Fire broke out in the duct system at Lucky's China Inn around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

The business in the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place was evacuated at the time of the fire, according to  the fire department. Lucky's is located in the Oakland Mills Village Center.

On Monday, the Howard County Health Department reported that it closed the restaurant temporarily after the fire and has yet to give the all-clear for reopening.

"We are awaiting information from restaurant ownership regarding fire damage repairs to begin the re-inspection process to reopen the facility," according to a statement from the health department.
