Laurel Woman Pleads Guilty to Robberies Involving Son

The duo said they robbed armored cars in Maryland and Washington DC, among other places.

 

A woman whose son pleaded guilty to a series of armed robberies  pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy on Tuesday for her role in schemes to rob armored car employees, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office.

Regina McCullom, also known as Regina Wilson, of Laurel, faces 20 years in prison for conspiracy as well five years for a related gun charge, according  to prosecutors. McCullom is scheduled to be sentenced in January.

According to the plea agreement, vehicle with other co-conspirators in 2008 and 2009.

Wilson—who was an employee of Dunbar at the time—along with his mother and another co-conspirator executed the robbery of Wilson's own truck while he was on his delivery route in Washington, DC. In that robbery, they stole $210,000, according to the plea agreement. McCullom was also involved in another robbery of a Dunbar armored car in Silver Spring when $160,000 and a handgun were taken.  In the Silver Spring robbery, McCullom admitted to transporting the cash and handgun to a hotel where the stolen money was divided.

In August, Wilson pleaded guilty to several robberies, including the 2010 robbery of a Dunbar Armored vehicle in the parking lot of the Dorsey Hall Giant supermarket in Ellicott City.  Wilson is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
