Police say several young girls did not notice a man in the Columbia Mall with his pants unzipped, exposing himself on Jan. 13 at about 2:30 p.m. A witness saw the man following the girls, however, and called police. Police said they could not locate the girls, or the suspect.
He is described as a white male in his 50s, between 5-foot-6 and 6-feet-tall, weighing about 250lbs. He had thinning, brown/gray hair that was parted on the side. He was wearing square glasses, a short, blue corduroy jacket with a wool collar, a black t-shirt with a design and writing on it and gold, corduroy pants with a black belt.
Police say one victim was taken to Howard County General Hospital after an assault on the 10200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway on Jan. 11 at about 8:20 p.m. According to police two people were going to meet an acquaintance when someone assaulted them, taking an iPhone, gift cards and cash. One victim had an eye injury and was taken to the hospital.
Someone smashed a sliding door at 10200 Wetherburn Road on Jan. 12 at about 5:52 p.m., according to police. The burglar pulled a vent and alarm siren off of the wall and ransacked several rooms, police said. Jewelry from the master bedroom was reported stolen.
Someone forced open a basement window on the 9100 block of Dunloggin Road on Jan. 13 between 4 and 10 p.m. according to police. Cash and jewelry were reported stolen.
Someone broke several windows of a work trailer on the 7000 block of Coca Cola Drive between Jan. 1 and Jan. 10, according to police. The burglar also broke the front door, police said. Once inside, the burglars damaged the trailer and set one of the rooms on fire.
Construction site burglary
Someone broke into a storage shed on the 1300 block of Hay Meadow sometime between Jan. 9 and Jan. 13, according to police. The shed did not show any signs of forced entry, police said. A “large number” of ceramic tiles were reported stolen, according to police.
