the jury considering charges against a Columbia man on trial for allegedly kidnapping, robbing and trying to kill a Germantown man could not agree on a verdict.

The jury was deadlocked after 5 to 8 hours of deliberations last week, Montgomery County State’s Attorney Office spokesman Seth Zucker told Patch on Monday.

A new trial date will be set for Quinnton Brown, 25, of the 8900 block of Footed Ridge, during a hearing Aug. 13, Zucker said.

Brown was named as one of at least three men suspected in a Jan. 22 incident at a Germantown apartment complex. Police said the suspects approached a man in a parking lot at gunpoint, forced him to withdraw money from an ATM, then marched him into the woods and fired a shot toward him, according to court testimony.

The he evaded his captors by faking a gunshot wound to his leg.
