Baltimore Cop Living in Columbia Charged in Teenage Prostitution Case: Police

Police said the officer was suspended without pay.

A Baltimore City police officer who lives in Columbia faces sex charges involving alleged acts with a teenage prostitute, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Charles William Hagee, 44, of the 8800 block of Goose Landing Circle in Columbia, was arrested at the Baltimore police headquarters and will be charged with third and fourth-degree sexual offenses as well as sexual solicitation of a minor, according to a report from Howard County officials.

The Howard County Police Department was given a tip "regarding the prostitution of a 14-year-old girl in Columbia," which led police to the officer, the report stated.

Police said Hagee contacted the girl through a phone number posted in an online advertisement for prostitution, then the two exchanged text messages before meeting at his home. They engaged in sexual activity three times between January and May 2013, police said.

Hagee, a 19-year veteran assigned to the Special Enforcement Section of the Baltimore City Police Department, has been suspended without pay, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who may have been a victim or have additional information about Hagee can contact the Child Advocacy Center at 410-313-2630.
