Group Robs Juvenile at Basketball Court: Howard County Crime Reports

Robbery

A juvenile was playing basketball at a court near the 6100 block of Sunny Spring when he was assaulted by a group of males who stole his cell phone and his shoes around 9 p.m. on May 20.

Commercial burglary - Beauty Supply

A brick was thrown through the front glass door of Long Reach Beauty Supply in the 8700 block of Cloudleap Court overnight on May 20. Someone climbed through the broken door and stole hair pieces.

Church burglary

Three brand new all purpose canopies were stolen from a storage shed at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in the 4700 block of Ilchester Road. Someone forced open a garage by to gain access to the shed overnight on May 20 to the 21.

Commercial burglary - Eastern Stair Builders

Someone took copper tubing from the back of an outdoor air conditioning unit at Eastern Stair Builders of Maryland in the 8400 block of Washington Blvd. sometime between May 19 to the 20. Police reported a window was broken on the front of the building, but nothing was taken from inside.

Elkridge

Cemetery burglary

Someone pried open a shed at Holy Trinity Russian Cemetery in the 6400 block of Elibank Drive and stole kitchen and outdoor catering items sometime between May 19 to the 20. Attempts to access two other sheds were unsuccessful. Police reported there were no signs of forced entry at the main gate.

Attempted residential burglary

A man tried to gain entry to a residence in the 7100 block of Duckett's Lane through an unlocked door, but the homeowner's dog began to bark and lunged at the man causing him to flee in an unknown direction around 5:20 p.m. on May 21. Police described the suspect as a black male, 20, who was wearing a light blue button-up shirt, khaki shorts and a lanyard with an ID.

Burglary

Electrical wiring was cut from four homes under construction in the 2600 block of Shadyside Lane on May 20.

Countywide vehicle thefts

A Hyster forklift was reported stolen in the 8200 block of Preston Court on May 20.
