Group Robs Man of Skateboard on Christmas Eve in Columbia: Howard County Crime

Skateboard robbed on Christmas Eve

A group of male suspects approached a male riding a skateboard, hit him with an unknown object and stole his wallet and skateboard around 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 7100 block of Oakland Mills Road.

Lookout arrested in Target robbery

A woman stole items from Target in the 6100 block of Dobbin Road and assaulted a security guard around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 22. The woman fled in a black BMW, but a second woman, described as a lookout was arrested in the incident. Police are investigating.

Two women rob American Eagle

A female employee was assaulted by two female suspects after she attempted to stop them from shoplifting at American Eagle in the Mall in Columbia on Dec. 22 around 6:30 p.m. After hitting the employee, the two women fled the mall from the south entrance. Police described the first suspect as a black woman with pink hair, about 5-foot-10, 230 pounds, wearing a black top and leggings; the second woman was described as a black female wearing a black top and jeans.

Silverware and jewelry missing from Catterskill Court residence

Dishes, silverware and jewelry were reported missing from a residence in the 10500 block of Catterskill Court. Police found no signs of forced entry.

TV stolen

Someone entered a residence in the 7200 block of Procopio Circle through an unlocked upstairs window between 3 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 and stole a TV.

Rear slider shattered, cash and electronics stolen

Cash, electronics and jewelry were stolen from a residence in the 6400 block of Morning Time Lane during the day on Dec. 20 after someone smashed the glass on a rear sliding door to gain entry.

Cell phones stolen

Two cell phones were reported stolen from a residence in the 9000 block of Town and Country Blvd. during the evening of Dec. 23. Police said someone entered through a rear sliding door.

Christmas day armed robbery

A man walking home near the 8400 block of Roberts Road, close to New Cut Road, was approached by two men and knocked to the ground around 1 a.m. on Dec. 25. One of the men threatened the victim with a handgun and demanded his cell phone and wallet, which the victim provided.

Handgun stolen

Someone kicked in the front door to an apartment in the 9100 block of Blues Alley on Christmas day and stole a handgun, electronics, shoes and bedding.

New resident finds unknown lock box on door, stuff stolen from residence

A man moving into a residence in the 9400 block of Fens Hollow found a new lock box on the front door on Dec. 21. When he went inside he noticed various electronics and photography equipment missing from the residence. Police reported no signs of forced entry.
