Four Displaced After Fire in King's Contrivance

No injuries were reported in the incident.

 

Two adults and two children were displaced after a second-floor apartment caught fire on Wednesday morning on Woodpark Lane in King's Contrivance, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Fire officials reported arriving at the scene at approximately 10 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the second-floor apartment. After entering, firefighters discovered a sprinkler system was controlling the fire, as a result, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

Two apartments were left uninhabitable after receiving extensive smoke and water damage and three other units received minor water damage, according to fire officials.

The American Red Cross has been asked to assist with the displaced individuals. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the incident.
