40 Firefighters Battled North Laurel House Fire: Officials

Howard County fire officials said the house would likely be uninhabitable.

A home in North Laurel was ravaged by a fire Thursday night, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

After 9 p.m. on Thursday, firefighters responded to a working house fire in the 10700 block of Graeloch Road, the department reported.

Approximately 40 firefighters helped extinguish the fire and prevent the blaze from spreading through the single-family home, according to the report.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, the report said.

The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services anticipated the house would be deemed uninhabitable due to damage, according to the report. A family that lived there would be displaced, according to The Baltimore Sun.

The cause and origin of the blaze were under investigation, the department reported.
