Crime Roundup: Police Look Into String of Armed Robberies
The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
Elkridge: Commercial Robbery
Shortly before 2 a.m. on Feb. 18, an unknown suspect approached a clerk at the CVS in the 6400 block of Old Waterloo Road, displayed a gun and stole cash and cigarettes. Police said they are investigating the incident as possibly being related to the two incidents below.

Shortly before 10 p.m. on Feb. 18, an unknown suspect approached a clerk at the 7-11 in the 6500 block of Old Waterloo Road, displayed a gun and stole cash and cigarettes. Police said they are investigating the incident as possibly being related to two other incidents.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Feb. 19, an unknown suspect approached a clerk at the 7-11 in the 4800 block of Montgomery Road, displayed a gun and stole cash and cigarettes. Police arrested the suspect, charges pending, and said they are investigating the incident as possibly being related to two other incidents.
Columbia: Robbery
At 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 17, three unknown suspects approached a victim in the 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road, assaulted the victim and stole his wallet. Police said the victim was transported to Howard County General Hospital with minor injuries.
Columbia: Robbery Attempt
Shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 18, three unknown suspects approached a victim in a parking lot near the Mall in Columbia, asked the victim about drugs, displayed a knife and assaulted the victim. The suspects fled and nothing was reported stolen.
Ellicott City: Robbery
Shortly after 10 p.m. on Feb. 20, suspects who had agreed to purchase a cell phone from a victim in the 4900 block of Executive Park Drive stole the phone and fled on foot. Police arrested two juvenile suspects.
Ellicott City: Commercial Break-In
Between Feb. 15 and Feb. 17, an unknown number of suspects entered a concession stand at Turf Valley Resort in the 2700 block of Turf Valley Road and vandalized property.
West Friendship: Commercial Burglary
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Feb. 17, three unknown suspects entered the Shell Gas Station in the 10700 block of Birmingham Way. As two suspects distracted the clerk, the third suspect pried open an office door and stole a cash bag.
Columbia: Commercial Break-In
Between 12:48 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. on Feb. 19, an unknown number of suspects pried open a side door of the Shell Gas Station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way and stole cash from an ATM and a safe.
Columbia: Commercial Break-In Attempt
Between 10 a.m. on Feb. 19 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 20, an unknown number of suspects attempted to break into Newkirk Electric in the 9500 block of Berger Road by breaking a front window, but failed to gain entry.
Columbia: Construction Break-In
Shortly after 8 a.m. on Feb. 20, an unknown number of suspects entered the Howard Hughes Building in the 10200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway and stole a generator.
Ellicott City: Break-In Attempt
Shortly before 6 p.m. on Feb. 17, a break-in was reported at a residence in the 9900 block of Oak Lea Court.
North Laurel: Break-In
Shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 18, a known suspect entered the front door of a residence in the 9400 block of Kings Grant Court and stole keys. Arriving officers arrested Clemon Rucker, 32, of Baltimore, and charged him with first-degree burglary, theft and malicious destruction of property.
North Laurel: Vehicle Theft
Around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, a green 1995 Toyota Corolla with Maryland tags 1EBL59 was stolen from the 9200 block of Livery Lane.
Columbia: Vehicle Theft
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 19, a burgundy Lexus SC400 with Indiana tags 19277E was stolen from the 7000 block of Minstrel Way.
Columbia: Vehicle Theft
Shortly before midnight on Feb. 18, a Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the 7500 block of Murray Hill Road. Police arrested Eric Mumira Mutilu, 19, of Columbia, and charged him with motor vehicle theft and two counts of theft.
