Crime Roundup: Break-Ins, Robbery, Car Thefts in Columbia

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

North Laurel: Robbery

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Dec. 17, two unknown suspects approached a victim near the 9700 block of Covered Wagon Drive and implied a weapon. Police said the victim "struggled" with one of the suspects, causing cuts to the victim's arm. The suspects fled and the victim drove herself to the hospital. Police said nothing was stolen.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Dec. 17, an unknown suspect approached a victim exiting a vehicle on the 6300 block of Wind Rider Way, demanded valuables and stole a purse. The suspect fled on foot toward Gold Sunset.

At 2 a.m. on Dec. 16, an unknown number of suspects entered a building at Grandfather's Garden Center, on the 5300 block of Phelps Luck Drive, and stole copper pipe.

Annapolis Junction: Commercial Break-In

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Dec. 16, an unknown number of suspects climbed a fence and entered Ben Lewis Plumbing, on the 10900 block of Pump House Road. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Columbia: Commercial Break-In

Shortly after 3 a.m. on Dec. 17, an unknown number of suspects entered through the window of Das Auto, on the 6400 block of Dobbin Way. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Columbia: Break-In

Between Dec. 12 and Dec. 16, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road and stole a video game system, accessories, games and loose change.

Columbia: Break-In

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Dec. 16, an unknown number of suspects broke the rear glass door of a residence on the 6100 block of Devon Drive and activated an alarm. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Columbia: Break-In

On Dec. 16, an unknown number of suspects forced open the rear door of a residence on the 5900 block of Iron Frame Way, ransacking the residence. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Columbia: Break-In Attempt

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Dec. 17, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 7400 block of Sweet Clover, but failed to gain entry.

Glenwood: Break-In

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Dec. 17, police officers responding to a burglary in progress call at a residence on the 2800 block of Hobbs Road found five juvenile males filming a movie. Police charged the suspects with burglary and one is being charged with concealing a deadly weapon.

North Laurel: Break-In Attempt

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 17, an unknown number of suspects attempted to pry open a residence on the 9300 block of Fifth Street, but failed to gain entry.

Ellicott City: Break-In

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, an unknown number of suspects broke a rear glass door and entered a residence on the 10300 block of Royal Ascot Court, stealing jewelry.

Elkridge: Break-In

Between 9:45 a.m. and 11:52 p.m. on Dec. 17, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 5700 block of Main Street, stealing a television, video game system and jewelry.

Ellicott City: Break-In

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Dec. 18, an unknown number of suspects broke a rear glass door of a residence on the 10200 block of Brightstone Place.

Columbia: Vehicle Theft

Shortly after 7 a.m. on Dec. 16, a tan Honda Civic was stolen from a residence on the 6000 block of Majors Lane.

Columbia: Vehicle Theft

Between Dec. 15 and Dec. 16, a white 1996 Dodge Caravan was stolen from a residence on the 10700 block of Bridlerein Terrace.

Woodbine: Vehicle Theft

Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 16, a green Yamaha ATV was stolen from a residence on the 15700 block of Woodbine Morgan Road.

Columbia: Vehicle Theft

Between 11 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 8 a.m. the following day, a white 2008 Hyundai Accent was stolen from a residence on the 10900 block of Kathleen Court.
