Crime Roundup: Break-Ins and Indecent Exposure in Columbia

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Ellicott City: Attempted Robbery

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Oct. 16, known suspects struck a victim with a metal flashlight while on the 3600 block of Mount Ida Drive. The suspects attempted to take the victim's wallet but failed, and fled when police officers arrived.

Columbia: Robbery

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, three unknown suspects assaulted a victim getting off a bus at the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place, taking a handbag and money.

Columbia: Construction Break-In

Between 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 7 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects entered a construction trailer on the 5700 block of Oakland Mills Road and stole walkie-talkies and damaged equipment.

Elkridge: Break-In Attempt

Between 10 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 11 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 800 block of Riker Road through a rear door, but failed to gain entry.

West Friendship: Break-In

Between 6 p.m. on Oct. 15 and 9 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 13000 block of Forsythe Road. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Elkridge: Break-In

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Oct. 14, an unknown number of suspects kicked in the door of a residence on the 6300 block of Ducketts Lane and stole a video game system.

Columbia: Break-In

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Oct. 14, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 5600 block of Thunder Hill Road and stole a laptop and a purse.

North Laurel: Catburglary Attempt

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Oct. 15, officer found a known suspect inside a residence on the 10900 block of Hammond Drive without permission. Officers arrested the suspect.

Columbia: Break-In Attempt

On Oct. 16, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road by tampering with a window screen, but failed to gain entry.

North Laurel: Break-In

Between Oct. 14 and Oct. 16, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 9000 block of Moonshine Hollow and stole a camera and a purse.

Columbia: Indecent Exposure

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Oct. 14, a witness observed a suspect expose himself at a gas station on the 6000 block of Foreland Garth. Arriving officers arrested the suspect.

Jessup: Vehicle Theft

Between Oct. 11 and Oct. 14, a blue 1995 Honda Accord was stolen from a residence on the 7100 block of Dorsey Run Road.
