The morning fire led to a road block on Rogers Avenue at Old Frederick Road in Ellicott City.

Howard County fire crews responded to a fire at a mulch factory in Ellicott City this morning, according to a Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson.

When crews arrived at 22 Daniels Road at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, they encountered smoke coming from the four-story stone building.

A roadblock was set up at the Rogers Avenue/Old Frederick Road traffic circle while crews took on the fire, according to spokesperson Jackie Cutler. The road was re-opened just after 9 a.m.
