Snickers and Strawberry Milk Stolen from Jessup Diner: Howard County Crime Reports

Jessup

Commercial Burglary

Someone threw a large rock through the front window glass of Kay’s Diner, entered the restaurant and stole a Nestle’s strawberry milk and some Snickers bars. The incident was discovered by an officer doing checks in the area around 9 p.m. on March 6 in the 8200 block of Preston Court.

Residential Burglary

Two citizens detained an Ellicott City man who had entered a home in the 8300 block of Barkwood Court through an open door. The citizens spotted the 32-year-old man in the basement and called police, who arrested him around 7:30 a.m. on March 5. He was charged with fourth-degree burglary.

Elkridge

Armed Robbery

A man was walking on Old Stockbridge Road near Village Drive when a slow-moving black sedan pulled up next to him. Then a person described by police as a black male, about 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, wearing all black, jumped out of the car and pointed a gun at the man, demanding everything he had. The man handed over his wallet and iPhone, and the armed man fled in the car with another unidentified man. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on March 6.

Construction Site Burglary

Copper water piping and fittings were removed from eleven different townhouses under construction in the 7400 block of Singers Way sometime between March 1 and March 4. One of the townhouses had its door kicked in, but the others appear to have been left unsecured. In some of the townhouses, someone tried to remove copper from the sprinkler system as well.

Commercial Burglary Attempt

The front door of Waterloo Liquors was smashed with a large piece of cement, but only the first pane of a double pane window was broken sometime overnight on March 4.

Ellicott City

Construction Site Burglary

A person or persons cut through a 10-foot chain linked fence to enter a development under construction in the 3100 block of Burgess Mill Way. Water heater and kitchen wires were cut and small pieces of copper were stolen from three different units sometime between March 2 and March 4.

County-wide Vehicle Thefts

A Baja motorcycle was reported stolen in the 3100 block of West Springs Drive overnight on March 6.

A 1996 silver Honda Hatchback was reported stolen in the 9400 block of Good Lion Road on March 6.

A 200 gray Nissan Maxima was reported stolen in the 7100 block of Dorsey Run Road sometime between Feb. 28 and March 1.
