Woman Grabbed Near Lake Elkhorn: Columbia Police Blotter
The Howard County Police Department provided the following information.
A woman said her acquaintance threatened her with a box cutter and demanded money in the 9800 block of Broken Land Parkway at 10:02 a.m. on July 4. The victim gave the suspect money, and the suspect left. The victim said she did not know the acquaintance's name, and police said the case may be drug-related.
A man approached a woman from behind as she was walking on the footpath at Lake Elkhorn and grabbed her inappropriately at 11:42 a.m. on July 3. The woman broke free and was able to get away from the man.
Three boys, ages 16 to 17, were charged with fourth-degree burglary in connection with a burglary in the 5400 block of Tilted Stone. The rear slider to the residence was open, reported at 2:56 p.m. on July 3.
A 17-year-old Columbia man was charged in connection with an attempted burglary in the 8900 block of Tamar Drive. The resident opened the door when someone knocked at 9:48 p.m. on July 3, then the teen tried to force his way inside but was unsuccessful. The teen was charged with fourth-degree burglary and disorderly conduct.
An orange Honda motorcycle was stolen from the 10300 block of Hickory Ridge Road between 10 p.m. on July 2 and 8:30 a.m. on July 3.
A tow truck was stolen from Oakland Mills High School in the 9400 block of Kilimanjaro Road, reported at 5:30 a.m. on July 3.
Elkridge
Someone tried to get into a residence in the the 6600 block of Deep Run Parkway by forcing a door. The suspect did not get inside in the incident, reported at 2:34 p.m. on July 6.
Cash was stolen from a residence in the 5900 block of Hunt Club Road sometime between 6:30 p.m. on July 2 and 3:30 p.m. on July 4. There were no signs of forced entry.
Laurel
A front door was kicked in at a residence in the 9800 block of Whiskey Run, reported at 5 a.m. on July 4. It was not known whether anything was taken.
Savage
A 20-year-old man from the 8800 block of Baltimore Street in Savage was charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft, unauthorized removal of property and two counts of drug possession. The charges were related to the theft of a gold Honda Accord reported at 10:23 p.m. on July 6 in the 8800 block of Baltimore Street.
