Dry Cleaner Robbed, Cat Burglar Steals Car: Columbia Police Blotter

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information.

A Columbia dry cleaner was cleaned out Saturday morning in a commercial robbery.

At approximately 10:43 a.m. on Saturday, a man entered Love Cleaners in the 7600 block of Murray Hill Road and handed an employee a note demanding money.

The man took the money and left the area. He did not imply he had a weapon, and nobody was injured.

Street Robbery: 
At 10:21 p.m. on Saturday, a group of four juveniles approached a person walking in the 9400 block of Kilimanjaro Road. One of the youths took money and a cell phone from the victim.

Four Residential Burglaries

  • Multiple guns were stolen from a gun safe in the 5000 block of Green Mountain Circle, where pry marks were visible near a door knob. The burglary occurred sometime between 6:30 a.m. on Friday and 2 a.m. on Saturday.
  • A TV was missing and a door had been pried open at a residence in the 5100 block of Brook Way. The burglary occurred sometime between 7 p.m. on Friday and 2:11 a.m. on Saturday.
  • The door knob was removed and the door ajar when a resident arrived home in the 6000 block of Majors Lane Friday night. Nothing was stolen in the incident, which occurred sometime between 6 a.m. and 7:39 p.m. on Friday.
  • A man woke up and saw his front door was open a crack, then realized his wallet and vehicle were missing. The cat burglary occurred in the 10300 block of Nightmist Court between 7 p.m. on Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday. The suspect is believed to be known to the residents.
Fulton

Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence in the 8300 block of Reservoir Road, sometime between 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A rear basement door had been kicked in at a residence in the 12300 block of Pleasant View Drive, reported at 7:36 p.m. on Saturday. Nothing was reported missing.

Savage

Snacks and drinks were taken from Terrapin Adventures in the 8600 block of Foundry Street. A door was forced open in the incident, which was reported at 9:55 p.m. on Saturday.

Between 11:30 a.m. and noon on Friday, a street robbery and assault occurred behind the Savage library. The victim was walking on Knights Ridge Road when a group of approximately 10 youths began following him and one assaulted him, then stole his cell phone cord and headphones.
