Whole Foods Construction Site, 2 Other Columbia Businesses Burglarized: Police

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information.

Three commercial burglaries in Columbia were reported between Friday and Monday, according to the Howard County Police Department.

The construction site where Whole Foods is being built was raided over the weekend. Copper pipe, scrap metal and a power tool were stolen from the 10200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday. There were no signs of forced entry.

Several bottles of liquor and an empty cash register were stolen from Second Chance Saloon in the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place, reported at 1:42 p.m. on Monday.

A lock was was pried open and cash stolen at Jack and Jill Ice Cream warehouse in the 6700 block of Alexander Bell Drive. The back door was pried open sometime between Friday and Monday.

There was also an attempted home burglary, in the 10300 block of Eclipse Way, on Monday. Someone tried to pry the garage door open but was unsuccessful. The attempt occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
