Clarksville Man Charged in Church and Elementary School Burglaries

Police said the man burglarized a church and an elementary school.

Police charged a Clarksville man in a string of commercial burglaries, including stealing a TV from a church and copper from an elementary school.

Jason Wingo, 34, of the 5600 block of Trotter Rd., faces numerous counts of burglary and destruction of property and theft for his role in the burglaries, according to police.

Police said Wingo first came to their attention during the investigation of a burglary at the River Hill Garden Center on Aug. 20 when someone broke in through the back door, pried open a safe and stole tools and cash. At that time, the owner said there was an unreported burglary at the business on Aug. 7 in which a 46-inch Samsung TV was stolen, police said.
