Burglary in Columbia, Break-ins Elsewhere: Howard County Crime Roundup

COMPILED FROM THE DAILY POLICE BULLETIN... OWEN BROWN: BURGLARY

Money was stolen from a cash register following a burglary at Papa Auto Parts on the 7100 block of Minstrel Way. The suspect or suspects entered by breaking a glass front door. The burglary was reported at 4 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28.

COLUMBIA/GUILFORD: BREAK-IN

A vacant residence was vandalized following a break-in on the 9200 block of Connell Court. The suspect or suspects entered through an unlocked front window. The break-in happened sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27.

OAKLAND MILLS: BREAK-IN

Police say a known suspect was found in an apartment on the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road without having permission to be there. The suspect fled once the apartment's resident saw him. There were no signs of forced entry, and nothing was reported stolen. The incident was reported at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27.

ELLICOTT CITY: BREAK-IN

Nothing was reported stolen following a break-in on the 2800 block of Kings Gift Drive. The suspect or suspects entered after kicking in the front door and then "disturbed items in the residence," police said. The break-in happened sometime between 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, and 10:40 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.

CLARKSVILLE:  BURGLARY

Jewelry was stolen following a burglary on the 5900 block of Clifton Oaks Drive. The suspect or suspects entered by breaking a glass front door. The residence was also ransacked. The burglary was reported at 6:49 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.

ELKRIDGE: BREAK-IN

Nothing was reported stolen following a break-in at Fuentes Brothers Motors on the 6200 block of Washington Boulevard. The suspect or suspects entered through an open window, kicked in a door on the inside and then ransacked the office. The break-in was reported at 3:45 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28.

WOODBINE: BREAK-IN

Police are looking for two people suspected of breaking into a residence on the 14700 block of Mccann Farm Road. The suspects rang a doorbell several times and then kicked in the front door – but a resident was home, and the suspects fled. Nothing was reported stolen.

The first suspect is described as about 6-feet tall, with a stocky build and wearing a dark shirt. The second suspect is described as about 5-foot-9, with a stocky build and wearing a light-colored shirt. The suspects' genders and races were not known.
