Burglaries in Columbia, Assault Near Mall Bus Stop: Howard County Crime Roundup

Hickory Ridge: Burglary

Cash, a television, jewelry and a bicycle were stolen from a residence on the 10300 block of Hickory Ridge Road. The suspect or suspects got inside after prying open a front door. Police suspect the burglary might be related to others on the same road. This burglary happened sometime between 7:20 a.m. and 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.

Jewelry was stolen from a residence on the 10200 block of Hickory Ridge Road. The suspect or suspects got inside after prying open the front door. Police suspect the burglary might be related to others on the same road. The burglary happened sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.

Town Center: Assault/Robbery

A person leaving a bus stop on the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway was assaulted and had his cell phone taken from him. The suspect fled toward the Gramercy Apartments. The incident was reported at 5:32 p.m. on Thursday, June 2. No other information was available.

Ellicott City: Robbery

A person was in a parking lot on the 3300 block of North Ridge Road when two people approached him and asked him to get in their vehicle. Police said the suspects did not display a weapon or imply that they had one. The victim got inside the car, and the suspects drove across the street.

After everyone exited the vehicle, the suspects assaulted the victim and took his wallet and cell phone. Police are looking into whether the assault and robbery could be drug related. The incident was reported at 7:47 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.

Ellicott City: Burglary

Copper wire and piping were stolen from a home under construction on the 5400 block of Montgomery Road. The burglary happened sometime between 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, and 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2.

Elkridge: Burglary 

Jewelry and a camera were stolen from a residence on the 8000 block of Saint Jean Way. There were no signs of forced entry. The burglary happened sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.

Laurel: Burglary

A purse was stolen from a residence on the unit block of Cross Street. The burglary happened on May 27 but was just recently reported.

Columbia: Vehicle thefts

- A black 2002 Mitsubishi Montero with Maryland license plate M758689 was stolen from the 10300 block of Buglenote Way. It was reported stolen at 6:17 a.m. on Thursday, June 2.

- A blue 50cc Kymco scooter with no tags was stolen from the 6500 block of Quiet Hours. It was reported stolen at 8:36 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.
