Attempted Robbery, Burglaries and Indecent Exposure: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Wilde Lake/Columbia Town Center: Robbery Attempt

A suspect approached the victim from behind at the intersection of Windstream Drive and Governor Warfield Parkway, assaulted her, searched her pockets on valuables, and then fled on foot. Nothing was reported stolen.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, and wearing a black ski mask and gloves, a black shirt, blue jeans and black boots.

The attempted robbery was reported at 2:44 a.m. on Thursday, June 30.

Oakland Mills: Burglary

A video game system and a laptop were stolen from a residence on the 9400 block of Old Deep Court. The suspect or suspects got inside after breaking a rear sliding glass door. The burglary happened sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 5:38 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Wilde Lake: Indecent Exposure

A suspect was seen exposing himself on a path in the park at Wilde Lake near the 10000 block of Hyla Brook Road. The suspect was described as having a mustache and wearing a light denim shirt and jeans. The incident was reported at 5:07 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Ellicott City: Burglary

Cash was stolen from a register at Jerry’s Subs on the 9300 block of Baltimore National Pike. The residence was also ransacked. The suspect or suspects got inside by unknown means. The burglary happened sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, and 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

Ellicott City: Break-in attempt

Nothing was reported stolen following an attempted break-in on the 9000 block of Town and Country Boulevard. A witness saw the suspect tampering with a storage shed. The attempted break-in was reported at 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 30.

Laurel: Burglary

Two cameras and mp3 player were stolen from a residence on the 9400 block of Glen Ridge Drive. The resident returned home and walked in on three suspects who were inside. The suspects then fled through a rear door. The burglary was reported at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Columbia, Elkridge, Ellicott City, Fulton, Laurel: Vehicle thefts

- Columbia: A green 1998 Honda CRV with Maryland license plate 456M3 was stolen from the 8400 block of Blue Stone Court. It was reported stolen at 12:16 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

- Columbia: A silver 2004 Yamaha R600 with Delaware license plate MC24189 was stolen from the 7500 block of Murray Hill Road. It was reported stolen at 4:07 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

- Columbia: A blue 2008 Toyota Matrix with Washington, D.C., license plate DD0666 was stolen from the 10600 block of Quarterstaff Road. It was reported stolen at 8:32 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

- A silver Honda Accord was stolen from the 10400 block of Fair Oaks. It was reported stolen at 5:33 a.m. on Thursday, June 30.

- Elkridge: A construction trailer with equipment was stolen from the 6500 block of Meadowridge Road. It was reported stolen at 6:19 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

- Ellicott City: A 2008 Mazda 3 was stolen from the 9400 block of Frederick Road. It was stolen sometime between 2 p.m. and 5:39 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

- Fulton: A vehicle was stolen and returned back to its original location on the 7600 block of Midtown Road. The driver’s window had been broken. The theft was reported at 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

- Laurel: A 2006 Suzuki GSXR 600 with Florida license plate 60805P was stolen from the 10000 block of Washington Boulevard. It was reported stolen at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Laurel: Vehicle theft attempt

A vehicle on the 9200 block of Gross Avenue had its ignition tampered with. The incident was reported at 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.
