Assorted Break-ins and Vehicle Thefts: Howard County Crime Roundup

A sampling of crime reported in Columbia and around Howard County.

COMPILED FROM THE DAILY POLICE BULLETIN... COLUMBIA: BREAK-IN ATTEMPT

For the second time in two days, someone has attempted to break into the Lewis Veterinary Hospital on the 10600 block of Clarksville Pike. The latest attempt was reported at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15. The suspect or suspects tried to get inside by prying a rear door but were unable to do so.

Similarly, a suspect or suspects tried to tamper with a door but were unable to get inside in an attempted break-in reported at 2:03 p.m. on Monday, March 14.

ELKRIDGE: BURGLARY

A video game system and video games were stolen from a residence on the 6000 block of Old Washington Road. The suspect or suspects entered after breaking a glass panel next to a door, reaching inside and unlocking the door. The burglary happened sometime between 6 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16.

COLUMBIA, ELKRIDGE, JESSUP, LAUREL: VEHICLE THEFTS, AND A THEFT ATTEMPT

- Columbia: A black Tango motorized scooter was stolen from the 5300 block of Harpers Farm Road. It was reported stolen at 12:18 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16.

- Columbia: A vehicle was vandalized and had its ignition taken out on the 5200 block of Brook Way. The vehicle was not stolen. The incident was reported at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16.

- Elkridge: Three vehicles were stolen from BWAE on the 7100 block of Dorsey Run Road. The vehicles were reported stolen at 11:57 a.m. on Thursday, March 17. No other information was available.

- Jessup: An orange 1985 KTM dirt bike was stolen from the 8700 block of Mary Lane. It was reported stolen at 2:19 p.m. on Thursday, March 17.

- Laurel: A black 2002 Audi A6 was stolen from the Carmax on the 8800 block of Freestate Drive. It was reported stolen at 8:51 am. on Wednesday, March 16.
