Armed Home Invasion on Tamar Drive

Three suspects reportedly entered a residence, assaulted victim with a handgun and stole prescription medication.

Three armed suspects reportedly entered a residence near the 8300 block of Tamar Drive, struck a victim with a handgun and stole prescription medicine around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 11, according to police.

Police reported the suspects entered the residence through an unlocked front door and demanded prescription medicine from the resident and a visitor who was inside the home. One of the suspects then struck the resident with the butt of a handgun, causing a laceration on the victim's face, according to police.

The suspects stole prescription medication, Nike blue Air Max sneakers and electronics, then fled the scene, according to police.

The victim was transported to Howard County General Hospital for treatment.

Police described the suspects as:

1. Black male, 6’, dark complexion, heavy set, shoulder length dreadlocks, wearing blue sweatshirt with hood, jeans and mask.
2. Black male, 5’ 5”, skinny, wearing beige shirt black and jeans. No mask.
3. Black male, tall, light complexion, short hair, wearing a light colored shirt, jeans and a blue mask

The residence where the home invasion reportedly took place is about a quarter mile from Long Reach High School.

This is why I leave my door locked ~and~ have a firearm accessible at all times. Also ~love~ those descriptions... sounds like most of the people loitering in our neighborhood, acting like rude thugs whenever anyone drives by. Wonder if I can call in a tip with those descriptions and let the cops sort that trash out?

Brook, I could not agree with you more. Need to get some protection here as well.

While shopping for a house this summer I specifically told the realtor to not even bother showing us anything near Tamar or if Long Reach High School was the attending school. They need to get some cops on bikes out there. That area is Columbia's black eye. But hey there is a new Wegman's nearby and maybe they will get sidewalks there.

Aside from the fact that this sounds like black on black crime, it's good to know that others in the area are locked and loaded as well.
