Goodbye trees

The tree cutters are at it again.  There is a regular lineup of trees to be cut in our neighborhood.  Someone said they were diseased.  Is there no way to treat them?  Are they going to be replaced by young disease free trees?  How did they become diseased?    The streets will be bald and shade less when all this has been accomplished.  How unfortunate. They had been purposely planted at one time.

Any info on what neighborhood/ street they're being cut down on?

You will see some recent stumps and proposed trees to be cut down Dark Fire Way and environs.

They were probably ash trees infected with ash borer. In two block near me they cut down 18 trees. They will be replanted (but the stumps will first be ground up). Look for white lines on the curb for the locations of the new trees. Basically in the same location unless they would block a sign or something - then they will be replanted very close by. That is on county property. Apartments and condos (at least in my neighborhood) must also replant but some haven't done so in the past few years. You can call the county or your neighborhood and look at the architectural guidelines. Good question!
