Liebno, 77; Mitchell, 84: Howard County Death Notices

Submitted Obituary:
Robert "Bob" Glen Liebno, 77, a retired insurance adjuster of 32 years, died on January 7, 2014  from complications of laryngeal cancer.  Born in Randallstown, Mr. Liebno was the son of Glenroy Liebno and Ethel Liebno (Kirk) and a graduate of Millford Mill High School.  Mr. Liebno was also a former member of the National Guard. He lived in Daniels, Maryland, before moving to Carroll County in 2006. He attended Gary Memorial United Methodist Church in Ellicott City for 30 years. 

Mr. Liebno's hobbies included collecting antique toys and trains, as well as traveling to Bluegrass festivals and car shows in his motor home.  He followed the Ravens and Nascar, and participated in Sprint Car racing. 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Harlean Liebno (Moxley),  brother Herbert Liebno,  daughter Crystal Liebno Chasen, son Darrell Liebno, and four grandchildren. 

Following a Gathering at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Gary Memorial United Methodist Church on Daniels Road in Ellicott City.

Barbara Louise 'Gibby' Cairo, a resident of Ellicott City, died on Jan. 8 at the age of 67. Cairo, who was born in Flushing, NY, loved to read and cook. She was a go to person among her family for book recommendations and spent years perfecting her recipes. She was the mother of Lauren and Deana Cairo.

Gertrude "Bonnie" Thompson Huske Huntley, a resident of Ellicott City, who a friend described as a "Southern lady" and truly nice person died on Jan. 11. She was the wife of the late William M. Huntley, Sr. and mother of William M. Huntley Jr. and Ann H. Russo.

George James Falter, a veteran of WWII and the husband of the late Hannah W. Falter died on Jan. 5. He was 95.

Mary Jane Fleck, 77, died on Jan. 6. She was the wife of Carl Fleck and mother of William Fleck and Shannon Kraft.

Margaret C. Holland, the wife of the late Charles W. Holland and mother of Cecelia Archambault, Charlotte Cain and Norma Willis died on Jan. 11 at the age of 101.

Louise Anne Goyette died on Jan. 8. She was 74.

Lesia Ann Bell died Jan. 10 surrounded by family. She was 43.

Dorothy A. Offenbacher, of Mount Airy, died on Jan. 14 at the age of 79. She was the husband of Joseph F. Offenbacher and mother of Kathryn Offenbacher and the late Steven J. Offenbacher.
Francis Wade Mitchell, 84, who friends called "Tuby" or "Mitch" died on Jan. 6. Mitchell served in the engineering division of the Maryland Army National Guard for 25 years and worked in maintenance for the Howard County School Department for over 35 years. He was the husband of Georgia Lee Mitchell and father of William Mitchell, Cynthia Bujanowski and Jeffrey Mitchell.
Olga DeRitis, of Highland, died on Jan. 4 at the age of 90. Born in Conemaugh, PA, she later lived in Washington D.C., Brazil, Michigan and Laurel along with her husband, the late Colonel Vincent G. DeRitis.

Kathleen House Gandy, a former professor at CCBC Catonsville and wife of Leroy Perry died on Dec. 31 at the age of 49. She was the mother of Chloe Lawson and D. Scott Gandy.
James H. Jolly, 82, a former pole vaulter for the University of Oregon and Army veteran died on Jan. 1. He was the husband of Janice Jolly and father of July Ann Linett, Jennifer Lynn Jolly, and Carl Willard Jolly.
Anneliese Verderber of Ellicott City died on Jan. 5. She was the wife of Alfred Verderber and mother of Karen Beres, Ronald Verderber, Donna Schrage and the late Rene Kuehn. She was 77.
Gwendolynn Dorothy Bache died on Jan. 6. She was 97.
