Howard County General Announces New President

The hospital named Steven C. Snelgrove the new president.

After 24 years with one man—Victor Broccolino—leading the hospital, Howard County General Hospital has a new president.

The hospital's Board of Trustees appointed Steven C. Snelgrove as its president. He is scheduled to begin on Jan. 16.

Snelgrove has 34 years of experience working as a manager in academic and community hospitals, according to the hospital. He worked for Wake Forest Baptist Health System since 1989, most recently serving as president of two of the system's community hospitals, Lexington Medical Center and Davie County Hospital.

"We are delighted to welcome Steve to the hospital," said Peter J. Rogers Jr., chair of the Board of Trustees, in a statement. "His depth of knowledge about how hospitals work and his understanding of the healthcare delivery system will serve him well in his new role, allowing him to continue providing outstanding care for the residents of Howard County."

Broccolino, who earlier this year celebrated the hospital's 40th anniversary, will officially retire on Jan. 15.
