1000 Walk in Columbia on April 26 to End Multiple Sclerosis
More than 1000 people are expected to attend the Walk MS - Columbia at 9 am on Sat. April 26 to end MS. Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a disease of the central nervous system, is the #1 disabling disease of young adults, striking more than 10,000 Marylanders. Their goal is to raise $200,000 to support research to end MS and programs that help those with MS live their best lives. Among them will be Lara, a 37 year old woman who walks because her mother and sister both passed away from the disease, and Pat, who walks on behalf of her daughter who has MS.
WHAT The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maryland Chapter is hosting their annual Walk MS. The 5k (3 mile) walk connects people living with MS and those who care about them. Participating in Walk MS raises funds that support programs and fund research to give hope to the more than 10,000 people living with MS in Maryland.
WHO Children welcome when accompanied by an adult. Friends and family are welcome to walk or cheer on the walkers.
