Merry Mulch your Holiday Tree!

Recycle your holiday tree at the curb or at one of Howard County's 10 drop-off sites!

Before you recycle your holiday tree, please remove all tinsel, garland, ornaments, lights, tree stands, plastic bags, etc. Trees are chipped and these items will cause problems to the machines and reduce quality of the finished mulch.

There are 10 drop-off sites throughout the County:

Clarksville - Kendall Hardware (12260 Rt. 108) or River Hill Garden Center (12165 Rt. 108)

Columbia - Cedar Lane Park (5081 Cedar Lane) or Grandfather's Garden Center (5320 Phelps Luck Dr)

Elkridge - Rockburn Park (5400 Landing Rd)

Ellicott City - Small Circuit Court parking lot on upper Court House Drive (just past Ellicott Mills Dr, on the right)

Highland - Schooley Mill Park (12975 Hall Shop Rd)

Marriottsville - Alpha Ridge Landfill (2350 Marriottsville Rd)*

Savage - Savage Park (8400 Fair St)

Woodbine - Western Regional Park (14800 Carrs Mill Rd)

Drop-off sites will be available from January 2 through January 18, 7 days a week, 7:30-5:30pm

*Alpha Ridge Landfill hours: Mon-Sat, 8-4pm

Residents who receive curbside yard trim collection can recycle their holiday trees at the curb through Friday, January 18th on their regular recycling day.

Residents can recycle artificial Christmas trees and wreaths with metal components in the scrap metal area at the Alpha Ridge Landfill.
