Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake announces the grand opening of its Halethorpe ReStore on Saturday, August 27.  Located at 3741 Commerce Drive, this marks the nonprofit’s third ReStore home improvement center.  The public is invited to attend the opening festivities from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Halethorpe location, featuring food, fun, and “phenomenal discounts.”  The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by in-store specials and a chance to win prizes.

Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake’s CEO Mike Mitchell said, “Similar to the Pasadena and Dundalk ReStores, the new Halethorpe ReStore offers significant discounts on appliances, furniture, kitchen cabinetry, and more.  Most importantly, one hundred percent of the proceeds support our regional Habitat affiliate.  We encourage homeowners and builders alike to visit our ReStores for amazing bargains and a chance to help our nonprofit cope with today’s challenging economic environment.”

Habitat’s ReStore resale outlets sell new, reusable and surplus building materials to the public.  While every ReStore outlet is a little different, Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake ReStores focus on home improvement goods including furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances. ReStore resale outlets accept donated goods that are sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price.  These outlets provide an environmentally and socially responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of the waste stream while providing funding for Habitat’s community revitalization mission.
