Antique Appraisal Fair and Rare Book Sale

On Saturday, May 21, 2011, the Howard County Historical Society will hold its brand-new fundraiser, an Antique Appraisal Fair and Rare Book Sale, at All Saints’ Hall, St. John’s Parish Day School in Ellicott City.

This new event will raise funds for the relocation of the Society’s Library, Archive, and offices to the new Charles E. Miller Branch and Historical Center of the Howard County Public Library System in Ellicott City in late 2011.

Professional antique appraisers, Todd Peenstra of Peenstra Antique Appraisals, Lyndi McNulty of Gizmos Art, and Patricia Oakes of Patricia Oakes Antiques, will be available to provide verbal estimates for antiques and collectibles, including artwork, silver, jewelry, furniture, decorative arts, tools, ceramics, books and more

There will also be hundreds of rare and used books for sale on various topics, including Maryland History, local histories, gardening, fiction, Civil War, genealogy, architecture, and more.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase fine antiques donated from the personal collections of the Howard County Historical Society’s Board of Directors and members.

Tickets are available at the door. 

9am Early Bird Book Sale admission is $15 (includes 1 appraisal estimate)

10am Regular admission is $10 (includes 1 appraisal estimate)

A 2nd appraisal is $10, and all subsequent appraisals are $5 each. 

Food will be available.
