Tail Lights

The time-honored Howard County holiday tradition, Symphony of Lights, has a night going to the dogs! Tail Lights is back by popular demand on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Pups and their owners are invited to participate in a 1.4-mile walk through the light displays from 4:30–5:45 pm. The last admission will be at 5:15 p.m.

Symphony of Lights is a family-oriented 20-minute drive-through display of more than 70 larger-than-life animated and stationary holiday light creations made up of more than 250,000 bulbs. Visitors of all ages will be dazzled by the fantasy of color, design and animation as they take a 1.4-mile scenic drive in the comfort of their vehicles through a series of grand illuminated displays set against a natural wooded backdrop.

The display, located in the Symphony Woods off Broken Land Parkway in Columbia, opens nightly from 6–10 p.m. for drive throughs. The drive throughs run from Nov. 25, 2013, through Jan. 5, 2014. Private walk-throughs are also available for groups.

Admission to Tail Lights costs $10. Children under the age of 4 are free. Event information and registration is available by calling the Symphony of Lights Information Line at 410-740-7666 or by visiting www.hcgh.org/symphonyoflights or www.facebook.com/symphonyoflightsfestivities

Symphony of Lights is a fundraising event for Howard County General Hospital, with proceeds during the past 19 years totaling more than $1 million.
