American Association of University Women, Howard County Branch

As we celebrate our branch’s 50th anniversary, the Howard County branch of American Association for Women (AAUW) continues to promote equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. AAUW Howard County welcomes members and prospective members to all its activities. This month, published author and United Nations consultant, Holly Kearl will speak on “Street Harassment.” Holly Kearl is an expert on the topic of gender-based violence, including street harassment, sexual harassment in schools, and military sexual assault. She is a published author and consultant for organizations including the United Nations and AAUW. She is the co-author of a national report on sexual harassment in grades 7-12, Crossing the Line: Sexual Harassment in School. The meeting will be held on October 8, 2013 7PM, East Columbia Library (monthly meetings are normally held at the Ellicott City Senior Center), East Columbia Meeting Room, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD 21045.
